About the item

Old necklaces or torques in bronze alloy, were usually associated with wealth and prestige, as their production using the lost-wax casting method required an advanced know-how in addition to a rare raw material. \n\nThey could be offered by a chief to one of his men as a reward for his bravery, or else Council members would wear them for ceremonies or for making important decisions. The necklace contains 11 bronze faces.\n\nProvenance: former private collection from Belgium. Collected in the period 1953 - 1959 (More details provided to buyer).\nSold with a certificate of authenticity.\n\nShipping within 24 hours after the payment is received.
