Limited Edition. Small octavo. Number 52 of 72 numbered copies, SIGNED by Tom Sachs and briefly inscribed to critic David Rimanelli with a drawing of a heart. Published in conjunction with Sachs's legendary 1999 show at Mary Boone Gallery, a handmade artists' book illustrated with facsimile preparatory sketches for his sculptures, production notes, taped in color photographs, and a CD-R labeled in Sachs's hand. Book covers held shut along the top edge by a strip of duct tape. With a handwritten letter on 5 3/4 x 7 3/4 note paper, dated 11/19/99, to the art critic David Rimanelli: "Dear David, / It was fun to see you at / that starfuck party. I had / fun, did you? Enclosed please / find the ultra limited "Haute Bricolage" catalog (Mary didn't even get one). I / think that you will appreciate it, / more than she would anyway. / Tom / PS / Music on CD". Touch of bumping at the corners, light soiling to the white covers, near fine in stitch-bound illustrated wrappers. Letter neatly folded in two. As Sachs explains, Mary Boone, whose eponymous gallery presented the show, "didn't even get one." Rare.
