Harris G. Strong was born July 6, 1920, in Waukesha, Wisconsin. After being discharged, he graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in chemical engineering. Later he studied ceramic art at New York University. He produced pottery between 1950 to 1970. He passed away in 2006. He is widely known for his Mid Century Modern flare. Here we have a wonderful example of a MCM (Mid Century Modern) tile in the Heraldic Crest Series. This tile is dated 1963 and has his impressed stamp. This piece is ready to display on your wall. A very interesting take on family crest style art with a Bull holding the crest plate. A great terracotta tile in high relief. Wonderful tile in that it has no cracks, no scratches to glaze. Minor crazing. Minor chip to front corner about 1cm in length. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process including glaze misses and glaze pops. Dimensions are below. All pictures are original and un-edited. Measurements: 10 5/8" x 8"
