This strong engraving is from Michaelis Angeli Causei de La Chausse's "Romanum Museum sive Thesaurus Eruditae Antiquitatis." The work was published in Rome by Fausti Amidei in 1746. --- The engravings show various antiquities including vases, statues, tools and instruments. Many of these illustrations incorporate ancient gods and goddesses, caesars, and philosophers. --- Causei Le Chausse was an important diplomat and antiquarian. He turned his love of collecting into the science of archaelogy. Much of his expansive collection is illustrated in this work. --- The work is in excellent condition overall.
