1806 50C NGC AU55 (Pointed 6)

Though not on the holder, this is the Pointed 6, Stem Thru Claw variety. A naturally toned original with solid peripheral luster on the obverse, while even more extensive luster on the reverse is retained. Somewhat softly struck centrally, which is typical for these screw-press-struck early issues. A complex and extensive series of die cracks as well as some excellent die clashes add interest.
