Results for bulova watches

In 1875, Czech immigrant, Joseph Bulova, founded his brand as a small shop in New York City. Almost 40 years later, Bulova began to manufacture fine clocks and watches, resulting in great commercial success across the States and the opening of a factory in Switzerland. In spite of the popularity of the pocket watch at the time, Bulova dared to venture into wristwatch production using the same reliable and precise mechanics. After introducing stylish jeweled lines for both men and women, the company turned its attention to developing new horological technology; this resulted in the creation of the 'Accutron' watch, the first 'electronic' watch. Bulova has cemented its place in American history on various occasions; in 1941, it released the first-ever television commercial. This was followed by astronaut David Scott's personal Bulova being worn on the moon during NASA's Apollo 15 mission, after his Omega 'Speedmaster' lost its crystal.
