Results for andrew wyeth

American realist artist born in Pennsylvania. The theme for Wyeth’s paintings were usually the surroundings and people of his hometown Chadds Ford. With concrete depictions of objects and a strong empathy he portrayed his surroundings. His most famous work is “Christina’s World” from 1948, currently in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Wyeth saw himself an abstractionist and thought of depiction of simple objects having the capacity of evoking profound and endless emotions.
