THATCHER, MARGARET. A 5x7" black and white photograph of Margaret Thatcher, clearly signed by her beneath the image. Sold together with a 1986 Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference First Day Cover, in excellent condition, clearly signed in blue ink by Margaret Thatcher.. Unframed - (1) Fraser's Autographs
ARMSTRONG, NEIL & BUZZ ALDRIN. A large front page cover from the Reading (?) Evening Post "Moon Landing" souvenir supplement (overall approx. 420x300mm), dated August 2 1969. Showing Buzz Aldrin on the moon and SIGNED by both Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. Armstrong's signature in blue ink is slightly fainter than Aldrin's (hi-res scans on request). Top and bottom edges slightly chipped in places, one central horizontal old fold, but overall a stunning and wonderful item that would be ideal for framing.. Unframed - (1) Fraser's Autographs
PITT, WILLIAM - THE YOUNGER. An interesting signed document from Pitt The Younger to Reverend J. Holmes. The letter, in the neat hand of a secretary, is evidently one of many written to various correspondents in an effort to seek support in the General Election. This method was ultimately successful and Pitt was elected as Member of Parliament for Cambridge University in June 1802. Signed at the close "W. Pitt". One page, Pembroke Hall, 29th June 1802, with integral address leaf. Measures 249x200 mm. In very good condition with some very light overall age wear and a paper repair to the left hand side of the letter. In full: 'The repeated Marks which I have had the happiness to receive of the partiality and Confidence of the University of Cambridge, encourage me again to offer myself as a Candidate for the Honor of representing it in Parliament; and I take the liberty of requesting your Interest and support. I flatter myself that it will not be necessary for me to solicit the attendance of such of my Friends as are at a distance, but if there should arise any appearance of a Contest, I trust you will allow me to trouble you with a further application.'. GLADSTONE, W.E.. Autograph Letter Signed - (ALS)
GLADSTONE, W.E.. A black bordered postal envelope addressed to Duncan McClaren, MP, signed by then Chancellor of the Exchequer, W.E. Gladstone and postmarked in red No[vember] 9 [18]65, overall approx. 80x125mm, in very good condition with small closed tear and minor loss to rear flap. Sold together with a note from Gladstone dated March 26 1855 and inviting a correspondent to dinner. Note has been sellotaped at edge to slip of paper, but signature is completely unaffected. WYETH, ANDREW - AND OTHERS Collection - (COL) An autograph pencil signature of the artist Andrew Wyeth (approx. 30x115mm) mounted with a colour reproduction (approx. 125x175mm) of one of his typically lyrical pastoral works. Overall size approx. 350x275mm. Sold together with a TLS from Henry Moore on his personal stationery, dated June 7th 1957 and mounted with a colour portrait of the sculptor. Overall size approx. 280x355mm. Plus an autograph signature of John Piper (approx. 25x60mm), mounted with a colour reproduction of his painting of Somerset Place, Bath, 1942. Overall size approx. 270x340mm. Sold with three other Art-related display items, with printed signatures or with signatures we have not been able to verify. Lot sold as seen.
