"Portrait of Cary Grant 10''x10'' " (#K3CTV5-167)

This portrait was created as a part of a collection of portraits for the 50th anniversary of public relations firm, Solters & Digney in 2005. This collection of portraits features 50 of their high profile clients from the last 50 years. Known for his transatlantic accent, debonair demeanor, and "dashing good looks", Cary Grant is considered one of classic Hollywood's definitive leading men. Sometimes referred to as the "epitome of elegance," Cary Grant exuded style, charm and sophistication. Grant performed in films from the 1930s through the 1960s. He starred in several Hitchcock films, including the 1959 hit North by Northwest. Cary Grant was born 1904, in Bristol, England. He ran away from home at 13 to perform as a juggler with a comedy troupe. They later toured the U.S., where he honed his acting skills. In the 1930s he signed with Paramount Pictures. He made films well into the 1960s, establishing the debonair persona that made him a screen icon. He died in 1986, having received an honorary Oscar in 1970. Film critic David Thomson referred to Grant as "the best and most important actor in the history of the cinema", while the film critic Richard Schickel said that he's the "best star actor there ever was in the movies. Howard Hawks concurred, remarking that Grant "so far the best that there isn't anybody to be compared to him. Grant remained one of Hollywood's top box-office attractions for almost 30 years. Grant poked fun at himself with statements such as, "Everyone wants to be Cary Grant—even I want to be Cary Grant".

1967 Series 1 Jaguar XKE Convretible (#AUCL00547)

1967 Series 1 Jaguar XKE Convertible for sale in Wixom, MI 48393 This is a beautiful and rare open headlight Series 1 Jaguar XKE. Very few open headlight cars were produced at the end of the Series 1 Jaguar run making them among the rarest of all production E-Types. This 1967 Jaguar XKE has the triple bow convertible top frame, three SU carburetors, polished aluminum cam covers, single radiator fan, and toggle switches on the dash. Open headlights brighten the road far better than the covered examples, so this rare combination provides the uniqueness and novelty of earlier cars with the added benefit of being able to drive it practically and more safely after dark. This car has just 3,000 miles on it since a complete restoration in 1993. That is just enough miles to get things sorted, and the car now performs magically and it looks like new. The three SU carburetors feed the rebuilt 4.2L straight 6-cylinder engine for performance that will push you back in your seat with each press of the throttle. On our test drive this car hit 50 mpr in second gear just seconds after rounding a 90 degree turn. See the following link for the Jaguar photo gallery with 200 additional photos: http://www.sunsetclassics.com/1967-series1-jaguar-xke/gallery/ This very rare classic is priced to sell and you won’t find another 1967 Jaguar in this condition for the price!
